We piloted our Mama + Me programme in February this year and had a great turn out of mothers with their sons and daughters.
Our Mama + Me programme aims to strengthen the relationship between family members which enforces mutual respect and teaches children about interacting with each other. We were very blessed to witness some beautiful bonding and light humour moments between the family members and hope that our families continue to spend time together.
Here’s what some of our families had to say about their time on our Mama + Me programme:
“This should be ongoing as it is so precious to spend time with your child especially in this day and age”
“The one challenge I have now overcome since being on the DIC programme is being shy”
“It’s important to build confidence WITH and alongside your children. Beauty is not a destination, it’s a life journey and it grows as you grow”
“My one challenge I have overcome since being on the programme is that my insecurities don’t hurt me as much”
“I appreciate my body parts more – love my thighs! lol”
Our Mama + Me programme was so well received that we decided to run another programme in April and will have a third intake of Mama + Me in July 2021.
We are grateful to the Ministry for Pacific Peoples for their support and for funding our Mama + Me programme.
